Gone In 60 Seconds! Three Steps To Ease Your Stress Induced Neck Pain This Holiday Season

Health & Medical Blog

Stress can be such a pain in the neck. Stress does all sorts of crazy things to your body. One of the most common side effects of stress is back and neck pain. With the holiday season fast approaching, not only will you be experiencing more stress with family flying in for visits, but it will be difficult to find the time and the money to pay for a chiropractic visit or a massage. All is not lost, however. Below are the steps you need to take in order to clear your neck pain in 60 seconds so you can get back on the right track to enjoying your life and your family.

The Right Spot

Though your entire neck may been stiff and in pain, there is one centralized location where your pain is coming from. If you spend your time rubbing the wrong spot on your neck, you may feel relief, but it won't last for very long. Slowly and firmly massage various places on your neck until you find the spot that is the most tender. Note that if the spot that is most effected is on your right side, you should use your right hand and so forth. It will give you the leverage that you need to really dig into your knot and ease the pain.

Knead With Purpose

After you have located the spot in your neck that needs the most attention, you are going to apply as much pressure as you can. You will initially feel pain when you do this, but it should be a good hurt. If it is a sharp pain, ease up on it a little. Knead the knot with firmness. If you need a little extra leverage, using a tennis ball to do the kneading will help tremendously.

Chin To Armpit

This next step is going to look funny, but it will be worth it in the end. After you begin firmly massaging the knot in your neck stretch your neck out away from the problem site. Try to stretch your chin out as far as you can. If you would like, you can try to touch your chin to your armpit.

You will want to repeat the process of stretching your chin out about fifteen times until you start feeling reflief from the pain. After you have gone through these steps, stretch out your entire body, including your neck. By this time, your neck muscles will be relaxed and you will start to feel refreshed.

The holidays can be stressful, which means you should expect to be met with some muscles. Instead of letting a little neck pain get you down, use the three simple steps listed above and your pain will be gone in sixty seconds and you will be back on your way to enjoying a little time with your family.
